I started Awarp.com 22 years ago as a gateway to affiliate programs. This has since expanded as my LLC to encompass all my services.
My father worked for NCR right outside of Dayton Ohio starting in the early 60’s. We had a basement full of old mechanical cash registers and machines. I learned to repair and maintain those machines at an early age. When electronic cash registers started appearing in the basement, it unleashed a flurry of noise making, whirling contraptions I made from the surplus electronics.
My father was an avid team bowler. I would go with him to these smoke filled bowling alleys every Thursday night. He’d hand me a couple bucks in quarters and set me loose on the pinball machines. Within a year, I was repairing those machines on the agreement that I could play them for free. I really enjoyed repairing these electro-mechanical machines. I then learned the innerworkings of all the vending machines. When electronic pinball machines started to come out, I was not thrilled. But just as with the cash registers, I adapted.
A very long story short, I got into writing code and electronics design. I have been in this environment now for quite a long time, it’s my full time job(s).
I stay on top of the latest technologies. I believe that my electro mechanical experiences have considerably helped me in code writing work flow and visualization of solutions.
My code and designs are created to be future resistant while maintaining backwards compatibility.
I receive a lot of satisfaction creating custom solutions for folks and teaching them how to use all the great tools that are now available to all of us.
